Principal for the Day

As an incentive for good behavior at our school, teachers give out tickets when students do good things. For example: pick up trash, share, help someone, be honest, complete work, etc. Then ever 6 weeks or so they can purchase items from the Pride Store. In the past we've gotten lip gloss, Legos, fluffy pillows, a basketball, notebooks. The students really enjoy it. At the end of the year students can purchase special items including an extra recess, a pizza party or being principal for the day. Principal for the day is a pretty big ticket item, 40 tickets! Well Gus decided she wanted to spend her tickets on this big prize. As part of the day the student principal helps in the office, has recess duty, answers phones, and reads to students. Gus was lucky enough to come to kindergarten to read. She did a super job with the whole day and the real principal was very impressed with her. She made her mama proud!
