No more Popsicles

Not a problem here MsTay will just have a frozen corn dog. I think we need to invest in a lock on the freezer door.

3 months young

I decided to have a little photo shoot to celebrate mr.p being three months. MsTay was a great helped here are a few pictures that didn't make it to Facebook.

Blue and Yellow make...

Green or more specifically, make MsTay green! The other night as I am feeding mr.p and my love is channel surfing MsTay snuck away. After a few minutes of her missing my love went searching to find this.

So MsTay was taken to the bath. I went to see the damage in the kitchen and what the mess was exactly.

Yellow and blue food coloring. The next pic is my favorite

Luckily with a little Dawn the dye came right off.
 Moral of the story...

How cool am I?

Last night while blogging about potty training, MsTay snuck out of her bed to the bathroom for a little BM, then proceeded to fill the toilet with toilet paper, and why not put half the roll in the shower as well. Then went back upstairs to bed. I being the awesome Gus informed me that MsTay had poo in her bed. GROSS! I know, well despite all the TP she was still was in grave need of a bath.
Mixed feeling here however...
 GROSS!
Yeah she used the potty!!
But mostly GROSS!!

Potty Taining is not unlike Childbirth

Last Sunday night we put the last diaper that we had on MsTay. She told her the diapers were all gone so she was going to have to be a big girl now and use the potty. Oh a little back story two days before I threw a little fit, told my love to buy some more diapers because I didn't have the patience to deal with potty training little miss because she does this not so cute thing of ignoring me. I didn't realized that a two year old could have such great selective hearing.  But after two days of changing diapers again I guess I build up my courage to get it done.
So Monday No Diapers! For the most part it was a pretty good day. Tuesday even better. Wednesday Great!! Each of those days we went to lunch in the park and took about an hour drive and had no problems. Thursday and Friday were even better, we'd gotten over the uncertainty of the BM and she was doing super. Saturday was AWESOME! No accidents, 4 hours out of the house, great self control! I really thought we had this thing in the bag.
Sunday I was a little worried, mostly because she was going to be in nursery for two hours with out mom. But she did great, asked to use the potty a couple of times but never actually went. Baby steps right? Yesterday another good day.
TODAY not so much, there was no success today, correction Gus said there was success after she wet her pants and then we put her on the potty. I guess I'm miss pessimistic, wet pants are wet pants! Grrrr! Tomorrow is a new day but I was very very tempted today to break down and re-diaper her.

So how you might ask is Potty Training like Childbirth?
 1. You forget between children how hard it really is
 2. Every child is different
 3. You can read every book, article, blog, etc about it and still feel completely unprepared
 4. It is inevitable, you can't just not do it, there is a point of no return
 5. Everyone wants to tell you "their" story
 6. The process is very messy
 7. Men really don't understand ( I love ya love!!)
 8. It's quite the emotional roller-coaster
 9. There is so much involved in such a "simple" process
10 Finally in the end it's all worth it!!

Swim-a-thon

Results are in  Gus and Handsome participated in a swim-a-thin for their swim team to earn money for new suits and other swimming equipment. They did a super job. Handsome swam 22 laps and Gus swam 23. Both well over a half of a mile. Good work little fish!

MsTay's check up

Thanks to Doc McStuffins MsTay knows all about checkups. Last week at Mr.P's appointment she was quite entertained by the whole process. Hoping for a relatively easy appointment for her. We talked about what would happen, the doc would check her eyes, ears, listen to her heart, weigh and measure her. No shots just a check up. Despite all the prep it was still pretty traumatic poor girl. Her final stats  34 3/4 inches and 31 lb 9 oz. and a super cool hello kitty sticker.

Good nights!

No bragging and doubting if I should share for fear of jinxing a good thing but I just can't contain myself. Mr.P has slept 7 hours straight for the last two nights!

SLC Trip

As a gift to each grandkid, grandma and grandpa s take them to temple square for their 8th birthday and pre baptism. Well Handsomest trip was last week. He had a great time not only got to go to temple square but also went to thanksgiving point to visit the dinosaur museum. His favorite part of the whole trip was the large statue of Christ in the visitors center.

Mr.P dr apt

Two month check up went okay today. He weighs 12 lb 1 oz and is 24 inches long. I asked about the goopy eye dr said most likely a tear duct that is closed but should resolve itself. I also asked about only one BM a week and he told me to give him a little prune juice to see if it would help. Mr.P got 5 shots today. Poor little guy. He's a trooper.

Principal for the Day

As an incentive for good behavior at our school, teachers give out tickets when students do good things. For example: pick up trash, share, help someone, be honest, complete work, etc. Then ever 6 weeks or so they can purchase items from the Pride Store. In the past we've gotten lip gloss, Legos, fluffy pillows, a basketball, notebooks. The students really enjoy it. At the end of the year students can purchase special items including an extra recess, a pizza party or being principal for the day. Principal for the day is a pretty big ticket item, 40 tickets! Well Gus decided she wanted to spend her tickets on this big prize. As part of the day the student principal helps in the office, has recess duty, answers phones, and reads to students. Gus was lucky enough to come to kindergarten to read. She did a super job with the whole day and the real principal was very impressed with her. She made her mama proud!

Oh poop!

This is an odd post I know but it is what it is.  So each of my children have gone through a period of not pooping for several days. Mr.P has now enter that stage. It is always a little concerning to the point that I spend lots of time reading articles about baby poop, messaging little bellies and anticipating the moment of the giant poo and inevitably a very big mess and complete outfit change. And of course it always happens in the least convenient places, like the sonic parking lot!

I take a sigh of relief and put on the plastic gloves to my elbows. I warned you this was a strange post.

A little gardening

We are still in the clearing stage of gardening so today I thought we'd tackle the second half of the job. MsTay wanted to help of course. Mr.P hung out in the bouncy chair beside the garden. But that was not far enough away to escape MsTay's flying dirt.

Where is MsTay?

This morning I was snuggling with Mr.P and MsTay had snuck off somewhere, lately I can find her by the sound of running water or the rustling in the refrigerator but she was not in her usual places. I did finally find her in Gus's bed. Goofy girl.

Gus's night out

We were invited to accompany Gus to her "prom" for achievement days. First. Had to fill out a questionnaire about ourselves, we had dinner, danced a dance or two and each girl got a a special letter from their dad about how special they are. It was a fun night just for Gus! Love ya sis!

3rd and Final ISAT

Today was Gus's language arts final. This was the one she was the most worried about.
Her goal 196
Her score 216
So proud of you Gus!!

Mr.P is three weeks old

We went for a weight check today and I am very happy to report that he is finally exceeded his birth weight. As of this morning his weight was 8lb 4.5oz! Woohoo so excited. Crazy to think that he is still smaller then handsome was when he was born.

Sleep please

Right now my mantra is not sleep when the baby sleeps, it's sleep when the two year old sleeps. Love that she sleeps in most mornings.

Bye bye

Happy to report that Mr.P's belly button cord finally fell off.
I do love belly buttons!

ISAT # 2

Reading ISAT was today
Goal 192
Score 221
Woohoo good job Gus!!

Thanks Mom

On Easter I dressed MsTay in a hand me down dress of Gus's. When gus saw the dress she asked where I got it. I told her that it was hers when she was little. Her response was awesome "Thanks mom, for buying me cute clothes when I was little"
