well i decided yesterday to get out a notebook and just write down how i'm feeling about school, work, church, the month of march. i'm going to try to stop whining about stuff and just write it down. hehehe

once upon a time people use to comment on my blog now no one does and i'm kind of sad.

ROAD TRIP!!

a few weeks ago someone suggested to us that we go and watch another kindergarten teacher who has been teaching our program for several years. we were excited it's always fun to watch other teachers borrow their techniques in discipline, transitions and songs. the only downer was that the principal was coming with us. so i wouldn't be able to run up and get the best Bavarian cream filled doughnut on the planet.
the road trip was yesterday these are the top ten things i learned

1. kindergartners are the same every where
2. My expectations for kindergartners are reasonable
3. My expectations for parents need to be higher
4. the phrase "take charge of your body"
5. the names of 3 "naughty boys" those are their teachers words
6. a few more sight words to teach my kindergartners
7. 33 years in kindergarten can make an excellent teacher or a kinda cranky teacher
8. what a blessing it is to have so many fantastic parapro's in our school district
9. I am a great teacher!!!
10. I love my students! I'm so glad i show that love everyday

crazy dreams

-someone i really don't care for comes to my house and is trying to romance me. i'm yelling at him to get out of my house!! (lovely)
-my boss is my dad! yeah talk about annoying anyhow he makes me made imagine that and i give him the silent treatment
-all the teachers at my school are going on an over night camping trip we stop at a gas station to get snacks and the person from my first dream is there and he gets on the bus with me i'm yelling at him to get off the bus and leave me alone. (of course he doesn't listen)

the strangest part, the love of my life is in all of these dreams behind me on the bus, at school, in the other room.

missing something?

as a kindergarten teacher i have the privilege of looking at the calendar almost every day. some times this really is handy in helping me remember birthdays and other significant events. but this month of February has been so strange. everyday at school while we are saying the date i feel like i'm missing something.

it's the strangest feeling

new game plan

okay so i thought maybe i should try a new approach to the big sisters attitude! so we made a little behavior chart discussed it with her. she gets points when she does what she's told and i get points when she argues or whines. and then there are rewards or consequences depending on who has the most points at the end of the day.
it started out a little shaky i just wonder if its' too long term for her but she seemed to understand. the little genius that she is.
at one point today she said "mom tell me to do something" just because she wanted to rack up her points.
so i fudged a little today and let her win. i don't know about tomorrow!!

presidents day

as a tradition in our home we celebrate presidents day! we bake a cake every year and have a super fun day.

unfortunately this morning the youngest president woke up with a fever lingering at 102 and at his request we stayed home today.
even though the poor thing hasn't ate much of anything today he still wanted us to make a cake. so i tried and pretty much failed at making a penny cake. yes this cake could be posted on cake wrecks. never the less here is a picture or two.

but mom...

in our home we have the rule that if the children throw major fits they loose a toy.
so this morning the blow up was something about cleaning her room. big sister threw herself on the floor thrashing around. kicking the closet door in obvious attempt to break something and as a result she lost her computer for the day. when i told her this she said
"but mom this is the year of giving"
so clever and yet she still doesn't get the computer back
