just to be safe

the other day i had somewhere i had to be after school so the presidents went to a friends house.
Gus had to ride the bus with my friends son, as we were talking about it that morning and working out details she said to me
"mom, i may have to hold his hand, so no one runs me over"

i told her " you won't need to do that no one will run you over"

her response, "mom, it's not a boyfriend girlfriend thing, it's just to be safe"
